At Rise Counseling and Consultation, we are dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of individuals, couples, and families in California. We provide personalized psychotherapy and psychological assessment services, specializing in immigration extreme hardship, VAWA, U-Visa, and political asylum cases. We also offer behavioral health and mental health industry consultation to business professionals seeking guidance in behavioral health business development and management, as well as employment and immigration cases.
Dr. Mary Nickel-Nguy
Dr. Mary Nickel-Nguy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who draws from her professional experiences to support people through their life transitions. She is passionate about equity and operates from an intersectional lens in the areas of race/ethnicity, gender, sexuality and gender identity. She served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer, and has extensive professional experience in the criminal justice system, medical and behavioral health within medical systems, individual and couples therapy, behavioral health programming and operations, and health plans. Mary also has extensive experience working with legal counsel to provide behavioral health assessments for immigration related cases. She believes in providing a safe space to individuals with diverse backgrounds to work through past issues and current life transitions. Currently, Mary manages her private practice at RISE, and manages program development, implementation and sustainability in behavioral health integration for a California non-profit focused on improving access and quality for all.
